Knowledge Transfer

RNR Consulting was contracted by Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation (KCDC) to conduct a knowledge transfer exercise for the entire IS Division. Ignited by recommendations from RNR Consulting’s IS assessment and the sudden resignation of the IS Analyst II, KCDC realized the need of document and transfer critical knowledge related to IS. Thus RNR Consulting conducted the knowledge transfer project to capture, organize, and distribute IS employees’ knowledge and ensure its availability for future users. Subsequently, RNR Consulting created a knowledge transfer document which will play an important role in the recruitment process by helping to ensure that KCDC not only hires an individual who possesses requisite skill sets but also enables the individual to learn the IS Division’s operations quickly, and continue operations with minimal disruption to the agency’s operations.

In order to prepare the Knowledge Transfer document, RNR Consulting interviewed each of the three (3) IS Staff to understand their daily tasks, procedures, maintenance routines, location of documents and licenses, vendor contacts, and other pertinent information that pertains to their job description. Each of the IS Staff had very unique responsibilities, thus separate document was created for each individual job responsibility and delivered to KCDC.
