Asset Data Warehouse- Concept Definition Phase
RNR Consulting partnered with Dye Management Group, Inc. as a subcontractor for the Maryland State Highway Administration to assist with the development of an Asset Management Data Warehouse. The engagement involved setting the system scope boundaries and evaluating alternatives for implementing the system. RNR Consulting’s role was to assist Dye Management in designated aspects of the project.
Two deliverables were defined for the phase of work:
1. System Boundary Document
2. Risk Management Plan
The System Boundary Document defined the scope of the project, document business drivers, defined high-level requirements, documented results of the alternates analysis and cost/benefit analysis, and confirmed client expectations. It also provided an implementation plan for the selected solution.
Our initial role was in collecting information via client interviews and sponsored conference calls. As the current business processes and diverse client department needs and expectations were identified, we began the task of compiling and documenting the requirements portion of the System Boundary Document. The project adhered to the Maryland State System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for major projects.
