RNR Consulting was engaged by the Operations department to conduct a review of the day-to-day dispatch operations for each of Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority’s (GCRTA’s) five (5) dispatch centers. Each dispatcher on every shift was interviewed and shadowed (for a minimum of four hours) to gauge the time spent on each dispatch function, and to identify the impediments to this vital function for the transit authority. RNR Consulting developed detailed job time studies which depicted the actual daily duties as compared to the documented job descriptions. In addition, we provided recommendations for improve scheduling, system utilization and individual performance.
