EDRMS - Needs Assessment Study
RNR Consulting provided services to conduct an Electronic Document and Record Management System (EDRMS) Needs Assessment Study. Our participation included the review of the current formal and informal document and record management systems, conducted a study of the cross-functional business processes (many of which were document-loaded and record-heavy), and predicted the long-term effect of such business processes on future storage requirements and physical space limitations. RNR Consulting met with key business process users and department heads to understand their expectations for a future EDRMS. RNR Consulting worked with Calvert County’s Application Support Team to map out their comprehensive application architecture, which included future interface and integration points. RNR Consulting also assisted the Network Support Team to document Calvert County’s network infrastructure, which included areas such as server operating systems, back-up solutions, storage environments, and remote connectivity. RNR Consulting compiled a Best Practice Report, which studied best-fit EDRMS alternatives for the County, and gave recommendations on issues such as estimated system cost, staffing requirements, user readiness assessments, and system selection strategies.
