RNR Consulting was engaged by the University Hospital Health System (UHHS) to perform a comprehensive assessment of their software selection needs. Our team provided software selection expertise for the ERP system implementation for this nationally recognized health system. The team performed analyses of the organization, developed process maps, and conducted research on the software packages available and the best practices in the industry. We performed in-depth analyses of the audit functions, and reviews of the financial system that was to be replaced. Key areas were established and classified into mission critical and business critical scenarios that were then transformed into action-oriented steps to enable a successful implementation.

The software selection procedure involved such tasks as process mapping for the UHHS accounting systems and reviewing the accounting procedures, including accounts receivables, accounts payables, project accounting, general ledger, billing, purchasing, and order management. Each process was analyzed, and the procedures for the various software packages available were compared in order to select the right software for the implementation of the system. Based upon our involvement at UHHS, the selection of the appropriate system has enabled better classification and valuation of their current inventory and assets.
