Information Technology Roadmap

Haven of Rest Ministries commissioned RNR Consulting to develop an Information Technology Roadmap. In order to accurately understand the Haven’s current IT infrastructure and future needs, RNR Consulting utilized a “People, Process, Technology” methodology which provided a global view of the current IT organization while taking into account people’s views, sentiments and wishes, methods for critical business process execution and degree of technology utilization.

RNR Consulting interviewed Board Members, Directors, Departmental Heads and select Haven personnel as directed by the IT Steering Committee. These interviews provided insight into views and opinions of the present role of information technology and what possible roles IT could play in the future to improve the Haven’s overall performance. Interview sessions focused on gaining insights into the IT Steering Committee’s vision for IT at the Haven. RNR Consulting then reviewed and assessed the current information technology systems including extent of usage of current applications. An inventory of systems, applications, and network hardware currently utilized by the Haven was performed to assist in that goal. RNR Consulting conducted an information systems audit in order to inspect the functionality of modules in the Haven’s key business applications; the applications with limited functionality or insufficient needs fulfillment were scrutinized as targets for future assessments of long-term viability to the Haven.

Based on key findings from the above mentioned activities, RNR Consulting developed an IT Roadmap and related action steps which are congruent with the IT needs of the organization. The Roadmap serves as a guide for future investments in the Haven’s IT infrastructure and improvements in the overall IT environment. The IT Roadmap identifies strategic issues and lists the major immediate, short, medium and long-term goals Haven of Rest Ministries should address.
