IT Department Assessment

RNR Consulting conducted an Information Technology (IT) assessment to provide the mechanism for an increase in the efficiency of CMHA. The fundamental purpose of the assessment was to determine if the IT Department could support the new public housing software. For the engagement, we completed tasks including: interviews, shadowing, job time studies, contingency planning, network architecture, change management and skill assessment surveys, resource allocation, social network analysis, development of options and scenarios and development of a full range of recommendations. The surveys focused on assessing the IT department’s culture, computer skills and competency, managerial skills and change readiness. Moreover, RNR Consulting documented the current organizational structure and developed “As-Is” process maps and functional maps for the Department. We also compared the current IT processes and capabilities to industry best practices to spotlight areas for improvement. Our management of the project and utilization of our people, process, and technology methodology resulted in the development of two (2) optional courses of action, both of which provided enhanced business processes and maximized the efficiency of CMHA’s current resources.
