TITLE: Project Manager 1
FUNCTION: Operations and Sales
REPORTS TO: Senior Manager
FLSA: Salaried Full Time Exempt
Position Summary
Manages the daily operation of projects. Leads his / her team of Consultants. Maintains and updates project budgets and work plans. Communicates to the project team and the Project Sponsor the progress of the project in a professional manner in the form of dashboards, weekly update meetings, etc. Provides guidance and quality assurance over all project deliverables. Travel is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides quality assurance over all project deliverables. Ensures that project deliverables meet the high expectations of the Client and have been approved by the assigned Senior Manager. Mentors and guides consultants on project management responsibilities. Participates in developing and evaluating performance metrics for Consultants. Communicates to the project team and to the Project Sponsor the progress of the project including any challenges or obstacles that may need to be overcome. Able to make sound project decisions. Works with little to no supervision. Manages the monthly billing of his /her project(s) and updates his / her budget(s) accurately. Maintains and updates the project workplan. Seeks out new business opportunities with existing projects. Develops monthly invoices. Prepares responses to Request for Proposals and Scopes of Work and creates abstracts, presentations, and project deliverables. Assists in the hiring process. Must maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in managing teams and projects preferred.
- Ability to travel and work at client sites throughout the United States.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Able to work well in a team environment.
- Strong analytical, technical, and time management skills.
- Able to take direction and guidance from management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry and industry-related trends and forecasts.
- Self motivated and able to work with little to no supervision.
- Must be knowledgeable in MS Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, and Visio)
