RNR Consulting was engaged in an effort with the Cleveland Division of Water (CWD) and the prime contractor to develop a set of technical specifications to be included in a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the replacement of the meter reading system. It is anticipated that the new meter reading system will be integrated with the current CWD’s billing system. Therefore, RNR Consulting researched three (3) interfaces that are expected to facilitate this integration. These interfaces included an upload file from the meter reading system to the billing system to create quarterly bills, a download file of information the billing system needs from the meter reading system, and work order integration.

In an effort to collect the interface information, RNR Consulting interviewed the Assistant Commissioners, Meter Reading Administrators, and IT Staff. Additionally, we reviewed interface document plans to understand the data fields, attributes, and processes that will be interfaced when the system is implemented.
