Parts Relocation Strategy and Inventory Assessment

RNR Consulting previously conducted an inventory assessment at the Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA). The assessment resulted in a significant cost savings of $340,000 (34% of total inventory cost) for SARTA. RNR Consulting continued to assist SARTA with organizing inventory items into bins and shelves in the automated storage units. Throughout the process we manually counted each item and documented the new physical location. After completion of the counting, we compared the counts in the Maintenance system to the “true” on-hand counts and made inventory adjustments as necessary. Additionally, we documented obsolete parts and made recommendations on the disposal of the parts.
