Ward 13 Wireless Broadband Network Pilot
RNR Consulting partnered with Novarum, a nationally recognized municipal Wi-Fi networks auditor and designer, to build a wireless broadband network that will deliver high speed internet connection throughout Ward 13 within the City of Cleveland. This Wi-Fi network, supported by a high performance wireless infrastructure, will have the capability to support all types of applications and traffic including Internet access for citizens, video telemetry, meter reading, VoIP, public safety, and remote connectivity.
RNR Consulting has been tasked specifically with designing, documenting and conducting training for the City IT Staff, who will be then responsible for daily network operations and maintenance. Specifically, RNR Consulting’s project team will document the network components and technical specifications along with the assembly and installation process of the network. RNR Consulting will also develop a comprehensive user manual for network maintenance that will highlight the processes and procedures within the Network Operations Center (NOC) and include the training materials and worksheets for the NOC. Ultimately, the City’s IT staff members will be trained in areas such as installation of network components, network maintenance procedures, NOC processes and procedures, and the design and maintenance of a long-term training plan.
